Frequently asked questions about the Wiki, and tips about using and maintaining it.

Wikicode Reference

A detailed Wikicode reference is available from Wikipedia's cheat sheet. For moderators, this allows formatting notes precisely, and including links, pictures, interwiki links, etc. All these apply exactly as described to the Library. The same goes for Wikipedia's How to Edit Contents. For consistency, and to be in line with Mediawiki best practices, since The Library is built on top of the Mediawiki software. To preserve integrity and accuracy of data, content edits are only allowed to moderators (since we provide other content where user votes and reviews matter, and that these are then integrated in the structure of the Wiki - it is different from the Wikipedia workflow by that, thus, the rules change a bit).

Extra Wikicode

Extra markers are used here as follows :

• <digg /> to enable social bookmarks export, to digg / delicious / facebook / reddit / stumbleupon.

Tips and Tricks

• Appending &action=render to any Wiki link renders it in a simple format, suitable for pocket devices or other reading tools.
• To rename a page, simply "move" it, a redirect is created transparently
• Each Wiki entry has an attached discussion page, where we should always leave our signature after each comment. That page is public.

Special Pages

Interesting special pages include, but are not limited to :

• Special:AllPages - lists all pages in the Wiki.
• Special:ListRedirects - lists all redirects in the Wiki.
• Special:DoubleRedirects - lists all double redirects in the Wiki (which hardly ever have a reason to exist)
• Special:ListUsers - lists all moderators of the Wiki
• Special:SpecialPages - lists all special pages of the Wiki.
